I wrote these lyrics following a viewing of “Frozen II.” I have since listened to “Let It Go” numerous times on repeat, resulting in the following. Enjoy ✨

Waves crash unchaperoned,

Thrashing, savage, grieving, they moan –

I gaze silent, a witness to this dance in ire,

a stormy, black match of pithy, wet fire.

I feel my soul burn, it churns,

rapping in motion that mimics the ocean,

I feel sadness, a suffering, a delicate uncertainty,

a light in my soul that yearns to be free.

Let it rise, let it fly,

can’t hide in fear anymore.

Let it rise, let it fly,

In chasing my dreams, I soar.

I am free and I’m finding my way,

Let the storm rage on,

The surf screams and shouts in vain anyway.

Don’t be afraid, you have what it takes,

to fight, to survive, to shape your own fate.

Over the moon and across the world,

Your courage sparks the spirit in that inimitable girl.

Let it rise, let it fly,

I grow as I spread my wings.

Let it rise, let it fly,

My roots ground me as I pursue my dreams.

Here I go, and here I’ll stay.

Let the storm rage on.

My words, they compel strong emotion and thoughts,

they prompt introspection, deep feelings – cold and hot.

My words provoke awareness, acceptance, and appreciation,

for all that we are as this life’s creation.

Let it rise, let it fly,

I lead with the grace of dawn.

Let it rise, let it fly,

that fearful girl is gone.

Here I stand, in the light of day.

Let the storm rage on,

The surf screams and shouts in vain anyway.
