Continuing with the theme of poetry and lyrics, this week I wrote an original poem about the shadow side of dreams – which, quite honestly, don’t get enough attention considering how much they shape who we are as people, as much if not more so than good dreams. Enjoy! ✨

Sleepless, shapeless

Nights that creep tasteless

into our lives

sultry and chasteless.

Speak to me, you dark angel,

cunning and faceless.

A spirit that hovers, lurks

haunting, harrowed, weightless,

Screams silent, no fear,

punctuated by a braised kiss,

Sing to me you tempt’uous devil,

Beguiling and fateless.

Dreams, may they come,

swiftly and angstless

into our sleeps,

soulful and sanctless.

Pray for me, you hopeful human,

May your armored heart be gateless.
